by Arthur C. Clarke
This is a limited-run Easton Press Masterpieces of Science Fiction Collector's Edition of Rendezvous with Rama by Arthur Clarke. It is single owner, unread, from a private collection, always stored in dust free bookcases in dry climate, with Condition: Pristine/As New/Unread. The book is bound in full leather with hubbed spines: the rich brown leather has a fine pebbled grain, and the spine shows raised bands that create boxed compartments. On the spine, 22k gold stamping contains the title in one panel, Rendezvous with Rama, and the author in another, Arthur Clarke. Other spine panels repeat a framed 22k gold emblem resembling an oval capsule with short radiating lines and small leg-like strokes beneath. The pages have 22k gold gilded edges. The front board is framed by a thin double-line 22k gold border. Inside, the 22k gold line artwork is vertically oriented: a tall cylindrical form rises along the right side, defined by parallel contour lines and a curved outer edge, while the lower portion contains denser angular linework that reads as a clustered structural or terrain-like mass; small dot-like marks are scattered in the surrounding field. The book is printed on acid-neutral, archival paper, built with Smyth sewing & concealed muslin joints, and includes a pristine bookplate on inside of front cover. It features original artwork by Bob Eggleton and an introduction by George Zebrowski.
